Past Guest DJ for the NYC Yehoodi Swing Jazz Radio Show Ken Gilliam
Ken (Kenny) grew up in the Delta within close proximity to Memphis and New Orleans. This meant an early introduction to all types of music, but, especially jazz and blues. It was his love of the boogie tunes of both genres, which made him decide to become a DJ. Currently, during the day, Ken is the director of The Office of Continuing Education at Mississippi's largest private university. In the evening, as the owner of the Mississippi Swing Machine, he is somewhere in the south, spinning swing and boogie tunes at a dance or reception. His favorite artists include Count Basie, Nat King Cole, BB King, George Gee and Diana Krall.
NEWS!
Ken was honored to be the April guest DJ for the Yehoodi Radio show. The Yehoodi Radio Show is the # 1 swing radio channel and is based in New York. Ken's 4-hour swing/blues set played each Thursday and Sunday in the month of April. It was a lot of fun putting together a real "feel good" set of swing jazz and blues.
